Global Hotel Chain Founded in New York, Growing up in Korea
The history of Stanford Hotel Group began in 1986 on 32nd Street Broadway New York City where America’s performing art mecca
and a series of landmarks such as Empire State Building and Time Square stay nearby.
Stanford New York and its sister company H-Mart have been a strong glue for immigrated Korean merchants
as small businesses -- tour agencies and restaurants -- gathered after their opening on 32nd street.
The region eventually recognized as KOREA TOWN, which was renamed as KOREA WAY by the city government later.
After its successful start in NYC, Stanford spurred to extend its business territories, acquiring and building
branches in both North and South America regions and in South Korea - Oregon, Seattle and Santiago of Chile, Seoul, Busan, Tongyeong, Jeju island and Andong.
